| yeah, i suppose its similar to the message. the message is good, but like u said, its not a Bible. it's probably good to read through because it gives u a new perspective, and points out things you would have probably missed, but its more like for devotions or extra Bible reading time or whatever. | |

| Well, I'm trying to think of something witty to say... Oh, like The Message? Yeah, I prefer to view those as commentaries, NOT Bibles. Someone in church a few weeks ago gave a testimony. They said, "A few years ago, I decided to read through a different version of the Bible every year. This year, I am reading the Message."
I wanted so badly to shout out, "THAT'S NOT THE BIBLE!" It kinda made me mad that people can be so stupid to consider a book as a Bible when it has an author's name on the flipping cover!
Sry, rant... XD ...so far: Nothin'.

| Well, I'm trying to think of something witty to say... Biblezines? The only thing I know of close to that is Our Daily Bread, which is just a book of devotions anyways....
Could you give some examples? ...so far: Nothin'.

| yeah, i think that maybe new christians might want to use niv as well.
ok, how about those biblezine versions? they're more like magazines. my personal veiw they're great devotionals, however, i don't believe they should be used as Bibles, as in church or such.

| I heard some good advice once, but I don't remember who from... They said that an NIV or similar modern translations would be good for things like witnessing or topical overview. Like when you have to get a point across in an easily understandable way. Then, they said that KJV, NKJV, and other word-for-word translations would be best for personal study and in-depth Bible lessons.
Works for me! | |

| Ok why do mindless people continue to retranslat the KJV which is quite easy to understand since I speak and read "English" instead of just taking the original scriptures and translating those instead. Because it is pointless, for if the KJV say whale and the newer trasnlations say Fish it really doesn't make sense to translat english to english. | |

| I think all other versions are inferior to the KJV, if I could read the original scriptures language then I would be reading that instead but saddly I can't. | |
